My Story
I've been making homemade Chex Mix for as long as I can remember. In my younger days, when just starting out in life, I found I had more time than money. My solution to gifting for special occasions and holidays was to make a big batch of snack mix. This became a tradition - an expected tradition!
My secret is taking traditional recipes and amping up the flavors!
As time went on, my finances improved as was able to shop for gifts. While the gifts were appreciated, I would still hear, "Thank you, but where is the Chex Mix?"
I've packed suitcases full, mailed boxes and brought baskets brimming with the my homemade snacks. I love making snacks!
Many times friends and relatives would tell me I should go into business with my line of snacks. So here we are!
Every batch is carefully prepared, packaged and boxed for shipping.
I hope you love them as much as I love making them.
How I Handle My Nuts
I'm passionate about keeping preparation of snacks containing nuts completely separate from those that do.
Here's how it works:
Nut containers are kept in a separate area of my workspace.
Each morning the entire kitchen is sanitized.
Non-nut pouches are prepared first.
Afterwards, towels, aprons, bowls, pans, utensils, etc. are changed out. Cookware and utensils are washed and sanitized.
Kitchen is again sanitized
Snacks with nuts are made second, repeating the change-out and sanitizing process.
My kitchen is pet free, smoke free, children free and spouse free !
